"When you submit your life to Him… divine favor happens to you that does not happen to the rest of the world."

What Is Divine Favor—and How Do You Get It?

Let me be real with you: I’m not into spiritual gimmicks.

This isn’t about manipulating God. This isn’t a “give to get” kind of message. But I can tell you something I’ve experienced time and time again: when you walk in the fear of the Lord, favor follows your life.

Favor is when doors open that you didn’t knock on.

Favor is when blessing shows up that you couldn’t have earned.Favor is when people say, “That doesn’t make sense,” and you can only point to one thing: God did it.

The Link Between Submission and Favor

Scripture couldn’t be more clear:

“Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.” —Proverbs 22:4

In other words, when you submit your life to God, when you take Him seriously and live under His leadership, the result is favor.

Not just material stuff—but:

  • Spiritual confidence
  • Meaningful relationships
  • Kingdom impact
  • Joy that outlasts circumstances

My Marriage Is Proof of God’s Favor

If you’ve heard me preach, you’ve probably heard me say it—I look back on my college years, and I’m stunned I ended up with Katie. I wasn’t the best-looking dude, didn’t have much to offer.

So how did I land her? Divine favor.

Come on, somebody!

Let that be your encouragement today:

You don’t have to be impressive. You don’t have to have it all together. You just have to be surrendered.

God promotes the submitted.

He favors the faithful.

Favor Follows Those Who Follow Him

I’ve watched God do more through my life and ministry than I could’ve ever pulled off on my own. But I’m telling you—it’s not strategy. It’s not hustle. It’s not charisma.

It’s God’s hand. And His hand rests on those who fear Him.

You can’t chase favor.

You chase Jesus.

And favor follows.

What’s Chasing You?

Psalm 23 says “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.”

That’s not wishful thinking. That’s the result of walking in friendship with God.And friendship with God comes through reverent submission—the fear of the Lord.

Key Takeaways

  • Divine favor isn’t earned—it’s attracted by a surrendered life.
  • Fear of the Lord leads to humility, and humility positions you for blessing.
  • God’s favor follows those who follow Him—not perfection, but submission.
  • Don’t chase blessings. Chase Jesus—and watch blessings chase you.

Final Encouragement

You don’t need a platform or perfect record for God to favor your life.

You need a posture of surrender. The fear of the Lord isn’t a burden—it’s a doorway to blessing.

So don’t get caught up chasing influence, income, or image.

Chase the heart of God.

As you fear the Lord and submit to His ways, I believe you’ll see His hand open doors, release provision, and pour out peace that the world can’t explain.
